Hao Wang, Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Biomedical Effects and Nanosafety at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology. He is a recipient of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Talent Introduction Program, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Young and Middle-aged Leading Talent in Innovation, and the National Special Support Program for Leading Talents. He also receives the State Council Special Allowance. He serves as Vice Chair of the Medical Engineering Integration Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and as a member of the Biomedical Polymer Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials.

In 2015, he first proposed the "in vivo in situ self-assembly" strategy for constructing non-equilibrium allosteric biomedical materials (Adv. Mater. 2015, 27, 6125). In 2018, he received the inaugural Nano Research Young Innovators Award. He was awarded the First Prize of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Science and Technology Award in 2023 for "Key technological innovations and translational applications of nanomaterials in precision diagnosis and treatment of urological tumors." He has filed two international patents (published) and 14 domestic patents, one of which has been successfully commercialized. For bladder cancer diagnosis and precision surgery, he has completed an investigator-initiated clinical trial (IIT) involving 13 patients, achieving clinical expectations. The world's first pan-tumor targeted fluorescent contrast agent has received dual IND clinical trial default clearance from the U.S. FDA (IND No. 172343) and China's NMPA (IND No. CXHL2401438).
